Oh Christmas tree

Yesterday Mike and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. We didn't really do anything extra special...I took half a day off work and Mike and I went out for lunch (couldn't do dinner because we both had to be at church for dinner theater rehearsal) and then we finished putting up our Christmas tree. Let me tell you, That was a whole bunch of "fun". It was suppose to be up and finished several nights ago so I was a little agitated but I told myself it was no big deal and it would be stupid to stress over a tree. First we put the lights on and we realized we didn't like the way they were put on ,so Mike takes them off...and then puts them on again and we realize that we have a lot of lights out on one strand (yes, this is why you check them BEFORE you put them on the tree) so off they come again. Can't find the replacement bulbs so off we go to Target. As we are walking out our front door, Mike turns around cocks his head and asks "Is it just me or is the tree leaning?" sure enought it was. ok Sarah, don't stress. It's just a tree.

Then I thought of a story my mom told me about a Christmas tree her and my dad had one year before I was born....apparently this live tree they got just would not stand up straight regardless of how they cut it or put it in the stand. They would get it up and it would fall over....they'd work some more on it and think that they finally had it and it would fall over again. Finally my dad got fed up and nailed the tree to the floor! I wish I could have been there to see it:)

Well anyway, our tree is finally finished and it looks great. Kudos to Mike who had the patience of Job as he was putting replacement bulbs in. I would have just thrown them out and gotten new ones!
